McCall, ID

Well, Tom and I finally decided we'd make a day trip to the quaint little mountain town of McCall, ID. McCall is situated on beautiful Payette Lake which is surrounded by mountains---sort of a mini-Lake Tahoe.  Here's a pic of Tom with the frozen lake in the background.

Me with my best 'I'm standing in the snow' smile.

Here's another view of the lake.

Our little excursion coincided with a local snow/ice carving festival complete with vendors set up along the lakeside.  Elephant ears, anyone?  (What are they, anyway?)

A snow sculpture of????  It won 3rd place.

Second place pagoda.

First place entry depicted a sea horse and shells.

That's a dove carved onto the top of the fin.

Guess who?

I love chairs.

These are California beachside coffee shop chairs.

Yesterday's harvest. Thought you might like to see what I'm still getting from my garden in February:
broccoli, beets, carrots, kale, leaf lettuce, spinich and chard.
